Transparency and Control for AI Systems in Education

I discussed the need for human-centred explanations and control mechanisms for AI-supported educational systems. Starting from a broad introduction to explainable AI and hybrid human-AI educational technologies, I presented 6 examples I contributed to during my research. These encompass e-learning platforms and smartphone apps for students, and learning analytics dashboards for teachers.
